The EquusArte studio will be a state-of-the-art mobile venue for equine portraiture. Traveling all over the West Coast - we regularly attend premier horse shows with our services. We can also come directly to your barn!
Taking care of our clients is our first and foremost priority. We are a positive, energetic environment with a passion for horses. We offer a full suite of amenities that makes equine portraits that much easier -
We provide everything you need, and on the day of your session, all you have to do is arrive and we take care of the rest.
We bend over backwards to produce an incredible, memorable experience with imagery and final product that makes you swoon with joy over your horse.
We are technically and safety trained to handle horses. In every session, Julia works with an assistant to ensure there is always someone there to care for your horse. This allows Julia maximum creativity.
We are trained in all areas of horse health and physical limitations, deeply caring for each horse's personality and sensitivities. And every accomodation is made to ensure your horse feels comfortable in the mobile studio.
Hospital-grade hand sanitizer is used every session, along with clean, un-used towels with each horse. Manure is cleaned and sanitized with every "accident." We are very conscientious to avoid the spread of disease between horses!
All kinds of display Options
Are you stuck for ideas of knowing what to do with your images? It's a common dilemma, and it overwhelms a lot of our clients. That's why our mobile studio will have lots of ideas on display! Come see how you can get creative with your walls and innovative with albums. After all, why hire a professional photographer if the images will only sit on the USB drive in a drawer somewhere?
Plus, Julia is a trained designer who can walk you through this process and help you design something you absolutely love.
Publications & Media Coverage
Yes, we spoil them, but they deserve it! We use treats as needed to reward horses when they are being photographed. If your horse can't have treats, let us know before the shoot.
Your horse is shiny already since he/she is showing, but our grooming supplies are here to brush off that pesky dust!
I always shoot with a trained horse assistant who understands horse behavior. Having en experienced set of extra hands ensures safety and efficiency.
Inside our mobile store you can shop all kinds of letterpress stationery and wax seal supplies. Plus, get wall display ideas and touch/feel our equine image albums. Candy land for you paper lovers!
Your horse's needs always come first. With 50+ years combined experience, me and my assistant make sure your horse is safe, happy and healthy during the shoot.
We offer wax seal making workshops and letter writing workshops to help get you inspired to create beautiful things for your horse friends and family. Plus, we have a vintage press to play with!
At this time, we do not rent to other photographers. However our services extend not only to portrait clients, but we also serve businesses locally and nationwide who need commercial work and social media branding images for their equine marketing. Please inquire!
Our mobile studio is a 24ft trailer with a 20' x 30' pop tent for photographing.
We encourage our clients to not bring props to your equine portrait session. Images of your horse should be timeless, clean and modern. Props distract from the beauty of the horse. And all too often, clients who insist on props end up being disappointed in the images.
We are based in Bend, OR but travel all over the West Coast! Please check our show calendar to see where we will be next. We also offer limited edition barn calls to locations across the Northwest.
Equine portrait sessions typically take 15-20 minutes. They are kept short to ensure your horse has a great experience and is not overstimulated. Keep in mind, 15 minutes is plenty of time for us to capture a FULL session!
If you would like to jump in for a few images with your horse, we suggest wearing a neutral outfit that matches or coordinates with your horses color. Some of our clients like to wear their show clothes. I always love when clients wear elegantly casual outfits that don't compete with their horse.
