Julia started riding at 14 years old, and got her first horse, Nomad, a year later.
Jewel Images, Inc. was born. Julia left television news to become an artist. She began photographing families and babies and soon started teaching other professionals how to run their businesses.
Graduate school at Syracuse University took Julia in a different direction. She studied to become a broadcast journalist. Horses took a step back as she focused on her journalism career.
Julia gets contracted to teach all over the world including on CreativeLive® where over 1,000,000 students tune in to learn from her.

From the Beginning
Over 35 years of creativity, horsemanship and business.
Julia is endorsed by Nikon®, as the only newborn photographer in the world to be inducted into their Nikon® Ambassador progam.
Knowing something needs to change in her creative career, Julia closes the chapter on her 13 year space and moves out of her retail studio to change genres. The pandemic re-introduced her to horses. She switched to photographing horses in a "mobile" studio setting.
The pandemic leaves mnay of Julia's students struggling to stay afloat, so the 5 Carat Collective is born - an online membership platform to help students pursue their dreams.
Being a paper lover her whole life - Julia discovers letterpress printing and introduces it to the equestrian world. EquusArte, Inc. is official!

Letterpress Stationery
With a 1906 Chandler & Price printing press and a completely handmade process, Julia takes her photography a step further - with a vintage art form that she brings into the modern age. With hand drawn sketches of your horse , she'll create textural paper goods that give new meaning to the term "stationery."
